I was very skeptical based off of the reviews I read about this place. I was even considering turning around on the way there. The area is slightly off putting (because it is in a neighborhood setting). The parking lot is decently sized and the ticket area isn’t nearly as sketchy as the reviews on here make it sound. It is a small shack-like boothe, but it looks practical and typical for the petting zoo that it is. The area is much bigger than it looks and than I expected. There was a variety of animals and although their habitats did look like they could be a bit bigger, they didn’t look super cramped or unhappy. The staff was super friendly and let us hold several reptiles. They seemed knowledgeable about the animals and were cautious and careful. Overall it was worth the price and was a good way to spend an hour or so.
The animals look very depressed. We went when it had been raining. Most off the areas where the animals r kept were so muddy the animals had no dry ground and some of the address had "lakes"in them. The Bob cat looks like he's blind and he had an ear problem. He just sat there. When he did try to get up he looked like he was dizzy. He shook his head and just say back down. One goat, sounded like "it had smoked for 30 years" (my son's quote) and one red trailed hawk sounded so awful. One of the owls had a broken wing and there's a tropical animal that starts with a "c" that wouldn't even get yup and do anything. It just laid there. I've never seen a "zoo"with animals that looked so sick and depressed and lived in such deplorable conditions. even when i kept my dogs in a dog pen i made sure they were able to get out of bad weather, that the ground drained well, they were well fed and taken care of health wise.
Love this little zoo! The staff is so friendly and there’s a lot to see. The staff will bring a few animals out for you to see and pet. They also hand out corn and peanuts so you can feed some of the animals through out the zoo.
Had a fun time being able to walk around and see all the beautiful animals! What really made the experience worth it was Amanda who took time out of her work to bring out several animals for us to meet and hold! It was a phenomenal moment and she deserves praise for her dedication and love for the animals!
Cute little zoo, my family enjoyed it. Had a 3 legged goat which was different lol. They don't accept cards however and the animals could use better environments and fencing but honestly not a bad little zoo.
